Erosion is the process in which bodies of rock (or other material) into smaller parts. Ex Mountains-> hills->rocks->sand. These can be broken down by mechabical forces, chemical forces, and natural powers such as water, wind, and snow. -Namie
Erosion is the process of breaking thing into smaller pieces. LIke when there is a volcano eruption that can cause erosio because the rocks are moving down and breaking in to smaller pieces due to the heat. But Erosion can also break down old pieces in to new pieces.
@schirmy, i have a huge example of erosion in my back yard. There was a creek that ran behind my house when it was being built, and the original builders decided to run it through a pipe underground. One summer during a drought, the pipe rusted and collapsed. Now, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger b/c of the rain.
I didnt know it was that easy I geuss I just find it hard to learn. Erosion is simple it's a process that breaks things down. That sounds easy maqybe it's the fact that erosion has so many parts to it likeThe overall effect of breaking down and weathering the land is called denudation.
Erosion is just as i thought, the breaking down or waring away of objects like rocks, mountains, boulders, and so on. Its so simple, but can become complicated if you make it to be.
Erosion breaks things down. Erosion breaks mountains down into hills and rocks and boulders into sand. Basically erosion is the process of breaking things down into smaller bits, but it can also build things like wetlands or canyon. Erosion helped make the Grand Canyon.
wow did i learn alot, but one thing i learned is that its the proses that breaks things in our world down.what it does is makes things littler like bulders became into sand,so yea, and i wonder if i can be a scintist when i grow up well actally when i think about it most likely not, well.........by
erosion is the process of things like rocks, mountains etc. breaking down for example a boulder turned into sand because it rained so erosion breaks things down and turns them into new things
Erosin is the process of breaking things down. like a volcano it breaks thuings down due to the heat. Erosin breaks something down and turns them into different items --Sydney POlking
Alana Gulley WOW! That's so cool i didnt know erosion had different types of processes and that big things like boulders could break down to be sand!!!! this is cool stuff haha(:
Erosion is the prosess that breaks things down. Scientist are pretty sure, erosion brokke down our contenints and the land around us. Erosion brakes things down.
Erison is the prosess of breaking things down like if you break a part of something off you have helped the erosion of the object the same thing happens if it rains on the object
Erosion is the process in which lanforms like mountains are being broken down into smaller things like rocks and eventually into sand. Erosion is when something is being built into a new form.
soo erosion is the process of things breakind down.and erosion turns them in to new things so i was right.I still am a little confused about what erosion is?lyndsey roberto!:)<3 science
i would define erosion by rocks breaking things down into smaller pieces.like boulders turn into sand. everything turns into something new. Allison johnson
Erosion is the process of the breaking down of the continets and land around us. When erosion happens whatever is being eroted parts of it are becoming detached. Three types of erosion are mechanical, chemical and weathering.
eroison is the process of breaking things down.mountains can be changd into another form i didnt no that.just like the dirit and soil and rocks are breaking down.
there is mechanical and chemical eroison machanical is like smashing a rock with a hammer chemical is like pouring acid on a rock eroison is the breaking down of matiral in nature like wind rain and ocean tides.
Erosion is the process of breaking and or wearing things down, like when it is windy in a high climate and there is a mountain the wind eventually wears the mountain down slowly. Or the same thing with rivers and rushing water...the sides of the river eventually sink in becuase the water is wearig it down. _Sara Voigt
Erosion is the process that breaks things down. When a rock is near a river or a creek, and the water gets on the rock, little parts of the rock is carried away by the water, after awhile the rock will get smaller and smaller.
Weisker, Kyle Erosion is the braking of rock in to sand. It may be the reason of our contenit. What happens during erosion is rocks brake in to small pieces that are called sand.
Erosion is the process that breaks things down. As far as we're concerned, erosion is the breakdown of the continents and the land around you. The overall effect of breaking down and weathering the land is called denudation, which is the process of breakin things down. Boulders become sand. Mountains are rained on and become hills. The pieces of the mountain become smaller pieces and go down the sides of hills. Weathering and erosion always happen in a downhill direction
erosion can happen two ways: 1) mechanical, similar to breaking a rock with a hammer; and 2) chemical, similar to pouring acid on a rock to dissolve it.
erosionis the proess of breaking things down into smaller pieces. like if you take a rock of a mountain and then you set it down you just made a new thing.
Erosion is the process that breaks things down. During erosion rocks are broken into smaller things like pebbles or sand, or moutians are rained on and become hills. Two types of erosion is mechanical and chemical. Mechanical is when things break with no chemical reaction. Like hitting a hammer on a rock. Chemical is when chemicals are used or chemical reactions are made during erosion.
What happens during erosion is that some force is slowly wearing away a big object. An example taken from the website is that say you take a rock from a mountain, then throw it against the ground and the rock breaks, that is part of erosion. You-force- took a rock from a mountain-big object- and broke it-slowly wearing away at the mountain. There are different types of erosion, for example there is river erosion, which formed the Grand Canyon, where a river wears away at it. Another is where wind wears away, wind blows away the small parts over time it makes a big difference. There is also mechanical erosion, such as hitting a rock with a hammer. And chemical erosion, such as using acids or something to destroy rocks.
Erosion is the process of breaking things down. It is when natural, large things are being broken down into small things. Like from a mountain to a rock and then a rock to sand.
Erosion is the weathering of large things such as mountains into small things such as rocks and rocks into smaller things like sand. Chemical erosion is similar to pouring acid on a rock to dissolve it, mechanical erosion is kind of like hitting a rock with a hammer to make smaller peices.
like i said in my first post, erosion is like weathering. its the process of objects like mountains and hills. when a mountain erodes it is turned into rocks and when the rocks erode they turn into sand.
josh parsons-things get brocken down by rain, frost, rivers, and falling from mountains. The rain hits a rock and it moves and falls off a mountain and will hit the ground and break into sand and sediment.
@Luke So many people have woods and/or a forest in their backyards. It makes me envious XD All I have is a pool. Thats it, not all too fun. Then again I do live by Dulles so I can always go up there and explore their woods. I should look for any signs of erosion there! It's the overall effect of weathering. What Erosion is, is basically when mountains, and other things move into another form.
erosion is breaking things down like boulders to sand.
Erosion is the prosses in which rocks and soil break down to make every thing littler. I think this is going to be an interesting unit!

Erosion is the process that breaks things down. When erosion happens the masses of dirt and rock are moved to another form and place.
i would now explain erosion by: the process of things being broken down.
Erosion is just when rocks are broken down by weathering

Erosion is the process of contents of things all around us breaking down into smaller things.
Like when has a peice of it broken off and it lands on the ground that is erosion because a peice of that could turn into smaller rocks.

erosion is when weather breaks down material and sediment until it is as small as sand and are deposited in different places.

the process of breaking down the land around us
@Tyler It's more thanjust wearing away of rocks
Ok I was a little off in my description but I left out details. I also left out mechanical and chemical. overall its the effect of eroding.
Erosion is big rocks going into little rocks.I was not right befor i read this page.I learnd a lot from that page.
@ emily S.
Your right! i completly forgot about the wind it can also be dicribed as if a boulder was turned into arock by erosion

Erosion is the process of breaking things down if there was a rock in a stream an always had water running over it would turn into sand.
erosion happens at the tops of mountains by any types of weather like rain when it rains on mountains they turn into hills and bolders turn into sand
