Last week, when we went over our syllabus, we discussed the topics we will be covering this school year. Please tell me what topic you are most excited to learn about. Include why you are excited and anything you might already know about the topic!

I am excited to learn about the solar system. I like the stars and I think they are really interesting. My
Im am most excited to learn about minerals because i love jewerlry and most jewerlry has jewels on it which are minerals.My favorite mineral is diamond!
I dont know why, but i am excited about the tectonic plates and earthquakes, but also space and the planets.
@Ally-Yeah I am excited about minerals too. I like Diamonds also, I think it will be interesting to learn about minerals considering I don't know much about them.

I am so excited to learn about fossils! I think they are really interesting! You can learn so much fun just one rock!
@Jenn Me too. I love to stargaze,so does my dad he stargazes everynight. I sit with him sometimes. I think constellations are really interesting.

I think learning about minerals will be fun. That's cool that your favorite mineral is a diamond. Mine is an emerald because that's my birthstone!

I am really exixted to learn about earth science because i do not know very much about the solar system and hoping to learn alot more I am also exited to learn about fossils and a bunch of other things.
I'm excited to learn about the planets and solar system because i don't know a lot about them but i really want to.

Rocks i love to learn about rocks and i know rocks can be found any where in the world and there are many kinds of rocks!!!

I am excited to learn about the solar system. It is something that I don't know much about and I think it is interesting to learn about because it isn't something we are used to talking about because it is really far away and not everyone can go into space. It's a different topic and it's exciting. I know a few things about the stars. I used to be really into reading books about space and the solar system. One thing I think is really neat is that the sun is a star. I would like to know more about each planet.

@Reis,Elizabeth Me too, I think space is so mysterious because only a handful of people have actually been there or seen what its like not just from pictures. I think it would be so cool to go to space.

I'm intrested in learnign about rocks and minerals because i have always found the subject interesting!!!!...Not to mention there PRETTY!!! hahaha yes dacoda i said it!!! I said they were pretty. I agree with bonnie and ally and jenifer and whoever else mentioned the solar system... i wanna learn more about the stars too!!! I have always loved astronomy!!!!!
@ Mackenzie- I agree that fossils are very interesting they can reveal more and more about the past which always interests me!
@ Bonnie- I can feel the excitement too about learning more about what stars, constellations, and myths Earth is surrounded by. Many myths were actually based off of the solar system and space!!! i cant wait to discover why!!
@Courtney wow I didn't know that a lot of myths were based off of the solar system I guess you learn something new everyday. That makes me more curious about space

I am most excited to learn about this year is the solar system.I always wanted to go to space.It would so cool to be in a place with no gravity.

i want to learn about how lava and earthquakes cause natural disasters and how much destruction they cause.
The topic that I am most excited to learn about is the solar system because there is always more to learn and a lot undiscovered. The things I already know about the solar system is how the earth rotates and how there are seasons. I also know what types of planets there are.
Im excited to work with chemicals in the labs, I like the idea of putting different chemicals or substances together and make sometimes such a huge reaction
I am exited about rocks and minerals. My brother collected rocks and I never knew what they were talking about.I would like to learn about how different types of rocks form.
I am exited to learn about rocks and minerals even fossils. I want to learn whats in the rocks and where the fossils came from. I already know that fossils could be plants or animals.

I am excited to learn most about space because I want to learn more about the planets and what their shapes are. I know Pluto is no longer a planet. The leaves eight planets.

Me too on the weather. I know we spent some time on the weather a few years ago but not enough! I don't remember much about it, but I do remember a few trhings about clouds.

@Abby:) I also want to learn more about the solar system. I think you and me will have a great time learning about the stars. Stars are so small but they are fun to look at and learn that stars look small in the sky but are really big.
@kresser:) I think seeing things that bubble and fizz and make odd noises would be so cool to experience and I think it could be fun but educational. Fossils are going to be fun also to learn about.

I love all of the excitement I see about our curriculum this year! We have a year to look forward to many hands-on experiences and interesting concepts.
I hope that you each are able to set a goal for this year in science class and by the end of the year you can say we succesfully met that goal together.
