June 8, 1875 there was an earthquake in western Ohio. it affected 104,000 square kilometers. It caused most damage in Sidney and Urbana.
September 19,1884 there was an earthquake that was felt by a man that was standing 500 feet above ground. It also shook the chandeliers in houses for many minutes.
From 1875-1952 was a bad time. There were continuous earthquakes in March. MOst of this happened in the northern parts of Ohio.
The largest earthquake was on March 8,1937 at 11:45 p.m. This hit 388,000 square kilometers. This earthquake hit all of Ohio, Indiana,Illinois,Kentucky, Michigan, and a couple places in Missouri, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Ontario and Canada.
Most of the earthquakes happened in March. Mostly all of them happened in the morning. All of these earthquakes were minor, but still shook up towns and cities.

The shock was felt at Washington, D.C., by workmen on top of the then unfinished Washington Monument, wich was about 500 feet above the ground. This earthquake was felt throughout a broad area, from Pennsylvania to Kentucky and West Virginia to Michigan which is about 324,000 square kilometers from were the earthquake occured.

I see the most Earthquake activity in Ohio upby Cleveland, and Lake Erie.

The largest earthquake in Ohio occured, in Western Ohio at
1937/03/09, 05:44:35.5. UTC, (local 03/08) Magnitude 5.40, and its Intensity was a VIII.

Workmen ontop of the unfinished Washington Monument in Washington D.C could feel it. This earthquake was felt at a range of about 324,000 square kilometers. I see the most earthquake activity near Cleveland by Lake Erie. The largest earthquake in Ohio occured in March 1937. It's magnitude was 5.4 and the intensity was a VII.
