I never reralized it, but I use tungsten and graphite and thingss like that every day! We use:
-Lightbulbs which are made of tungsten. The properties of this are that it is hard and has a very high melting point.
-Pens and Paper which are made from tungsten also. The properties for pens and paper is it is strong, rigid and impermeable.
-Paints and pencils which is made from a mixture of clay and graphite(a type of carbon). This has properties that include soft, easily powered and opaque.
These are just some of the thingds we use everyday. Especially lightbulbs!
The zeolites are a group of minerals used in washing powders to soften 'hard' water.To keep fresh and smelling sweet many people dust themselves with talcum powder. The fluoride in toothpastes is a chemical made from the mineral fluorite.

When i told my dad we were studying minerals, he told me all kinds of minerals used in medicine. it ws kinda wierd. think about it, your taking stuff that was mostly in the ground, and putting it in your body. yuck. anyway, benedryl contains clay. Thats wierd. And car brakes are made from asbestos. x2 yuck. or maybe x2 death.

we also put flouride in tap water, and a little too much at that. according to CNN's Sandra Gupta (MD) the large flouride intake is affecting children.

The most used metal is iron but steel is also used but is covered in a diffrent metal so it doesnt rust like zinc. glass windows are made of quartz.

I never really realized that minerals were every where i turned such as places like: School, Home, Store and many other places. minerals are in things like utencils, such as spoons for ks knives ect. Also minerals are included in the bricks usually used to build buildings or the house you live in. minearls are also in your either carpet floors or hard wood floors,!(:

Isn't it amazing that almost everything we use today are made out of minerals. From toothpaste to cars. It's hard to find something that isn't made out of a mineral. I wonder if scientists found all the minerals in the world or if there are still more to find?
I use minerals like diamonds, copper, silver, and coal. The minerals that
I did not realize are iron, rubies, and gold. All of the are called Metal,
Stainless steel, cast iron, copper, aluminium, glasses, and silver.
Everyday I use fluorite, stainless steal, tungsten and graphite.
I didn't realize that medicines have clay! That's suprising. Also, quartz is in a lot more places than I thought, like windows and computers.
Neat and Tidy:
Emery boards have corundum (only diamonds are harder than corundum!)
Washing powder has salt
Toothpaste has fluorite
Cosmetics have talc
Watches and jewelery have gold

Since you have braces like me, you also might have realized that the mouth rinse they give us is called "Flouride" and Im going to take a wild guess that it has fluorite in it, like toothpaste.
I picked in the kitchen.
I use Stainless steel, clay, quartz crystal, cast iron, copper or aluminum, bauxite, and halite.
I didn't realize all of them but stainless steel.
Stainless steel- Forks and knives
Clay- Plates and bowls.
Quartz Crystal- Drinking glasses
Cast iron- Pots and pans
Copper or aluminum-Pots and pans
bauxite- Soda or fizzy drinks.
Halite-Salt.

pens and paper - Also made of tungsten. the tips of pens are made on tungsten.paper is usally made up of wood pulp mixed with minerals like clays, mica, talc and baryte.
Flim and batteries - Silver, argentite and other silver-bearing minerals are often used in photography. Nickel is used in rechargeable batteries. Theese are just some of the tings we use everyday.

Yes we use lightbulbs alot everyday but also pens and paper!
Well one mineral that i use everyday is stainless steel. the reason why i use that everyday is because it makes my knives forks and spoons. a mineral that is around everyday is tungsten. tungsten is the pieces of metal that are in the light bulb.

exactly thats what i say about it... its so cool how minerals are in everything that we use every single day.
flurite, glass, and copper. A mineral that i did not relize was limestone in carpet. That was a big one.I chose health and medicine.

Some houses has asbestos in the insulations of the walls.
cobalt- rehargeable batteries
copper - cable used in electrical wires
feldspar - a rock forming mineral used in cement or concrete, patios
lead - used in televisions
mica - used in books
nickel - used in snaps, buttons and belt buckles for clothing
This is just a few things we use everyday without even realizing it.
all these materials are used to make buildings and these are the minerials that they are made of.

wow i didnt think that many minerals are used in a kitchen just goes to show how many minerials we use and dont even realize it
wooooooowwwwwwww i use menerals alot! the thing i use the most is pens/pensals and paper, i googled it and i found its made from tungsten! i forget what tungsten is but a property of them is impermeable
Lightbulbs have tungsten,which is hard and melts at very high temperatures.graphite is also used in pencils as the tips.Paper and pens also use tungsten.Pens and paper are rigid,strong, and impermable. Pencils also have some clay in them.Paint also is a mixture of clay and graphite.
Out of every thing listed above, i think i use apencil the most.

The zeolites sounds a lot like zealites ,the jewish soldiers or something like that.
josh parsons- We use wood,metal,plastic. flower Pots,penicls,paints,pens,paper and light balbs.Ore,graphite,clay,plasterboard used for houses. Galena for lead and copper for pipes. iron and chromium for sppons,forks,knives.Aluminum for pots and pans. Steel for cans and tins.

Stainless steal contains molten iron and chromium which are both from minerals.
Pens and Paper which are made from tungsten also.
Glass is made of quartz.Cans for fizzy drinks are made of aluminium.Plates, bowls, cups, saucers and mugs are made from clay minerals.
