At the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant 8,200 microsieverts per hour No. 4 reactor is on fire!!! They say that its a big dilema because of the 8,200 microsieverts, thats a BIG number!

I think that what Japan is going through is really sad. Hopefully these nuclear explosions stop and an earthquake or tsunami doesnt happen for a long time. If I lived their I would be very scared and worried.

That is a big number. That would be so scary, I dont know what I would do if I was in Japan right now.

Sturwold, Kaylee said...

@anna It does look like that in the picture do you think it is? Well it is a tsunami... i think it did

Umm.. we dont think it did but it might have, thats a good question! We also wouldnt want to go through all that suffering and worrying! I wonder, how many people were affected by all this mayhem and how long they knew it was coming!

I think what happened in Japan is really sad and scary. I was thinking about if something like this happened in the U.S. What would happen? What would we do? It is probably really chaotic in Japan, so I hope everything gets better for the citizens there.

Anonymous said...

@Anna&Sam
Well yes and no. The Tsunami was a 30ft wave that swept through Japan. It's kinda like when your at the beach and the little waves come and hit your feet when you get real close, but this wave knocked over bulidings and killed a few people I think.

Schirmer,Brandon said...

i thought that Japan would just have the Earthquake and the tsunami. But now that i know that they might have a nuclear powerplant spill. i think Japan is in a jam.

ReddingtonDavid said...

That is crazy. What could go wrong has gone wrong for Japan. hopefully this wont be as bad as it could be. Radioactivity is horrible and i hope it wont happen in America.

Schirmer,Brandon said...

@ Anna

If you did have this go through your life what would you be thinking.

LaGrangeBonnie said...

@ Mackenzie Yeah that is really scary to know. I was at church on Sunday and one of the readers couldn't come because her husband was in Japan and she was trying to get ahold of him. I hope everything gets better there.

I don't think that many people are going to surrive all of thease Tsunami's are horribal for everyone who are living there now. How many eatrhquackes and Tsunami's are going to happen their. For people who went there for a trip are probemly wishing they could get back home and away from their.

@ Brandon

it wasn't a spill, it was a meltdown which means that the rods have gotten so hot, they are melting

The stuff that's going on over there doesn't seem like any fun.A tsunami and a 9.0 earthquake back to back, and now several nuclear explosions,none of those can be good for the environment.It would have been cool to go there 2 months ago,but not now because i think they are in a state of panic

We cant believe that the nuclear power plant reached 8,200 microsieverts per hour, No. 4 reactor is on fire. If we were in japan we would probaly have a panic attack!

It was very terrible what they went through and how many people died. It was sad and it destroid alot of things. Yes it did happen in the middle of the ocean but their are plates under the pacific and they caused an earthquake which caused the Tsunami.

I was expecting something like this to happen. If you live on an island, near a plate boundry, next to China, a eathquake with a tsunami was sure to happen. Sucks for them though, i would not like it if water took my house away.

This disater was a bad thing. Japan got hit by and Earthquake plus a Tsunami. Also Japan is surrounded by water so it is hard to land travel. Now the raditation is escaping. Once this is all over the Japanese should maybe try to use new power sources so they don't need any of nuclear powerplants. 8200 microsvierts is a lot and can do large damage.

Dupont, Noah said...

All my prayers and love is out to Japan, I would HATE to go through all this. I've always thought Japan was a cool country, I just do. At first I thought they would recover in a little while, but then the tsunamis and nuclear explosions happened I instantly got worried. I seriously hope that they aren't too badly crippled. I feel so bad for them, too.

Also I hate the people that all go
"KARMA! ITS WHAT YOU GET FOR PEARL HARBOR!" I've seen it on this one forum I get on daily, someone posted a thread titled "Most Americans Disgust Me" I was curiousb and instantly angry at many people. It was an image of a list of things people said about Japan on facebook, they didn't care, they said they deserved it. I find that so inhuman! It was over 60 years ago! They lost even more people from us bombing them, over 200,000! Then they helped us in our times of need, Hurricane Katrina, and 9/11! They're some of our closest allies!

Again my prayers are all to Japan.

Calderon, Heidi said...

im just thinken, like if your a guy in japan and a giant earthquake happens when your at work and you just make it out in time before the building collasped and then you get in your car and start driven home when a giant tsunami sweeps you and your car down the road that is now a river. luckaly when you jump out of the car you grab onto a fence. you climb up and over the and onto dr land. you turn around to view what you have just climbed into when you see that you've just stumbeled into a broken reactor facility. you turn to leave when you feel a tingling all through your body, suddenly you drop to the ground and die as radiation assaults your body. youve excaped the collapsing building in the earthquake and survived the raging waters of the tsunamito be killed by an exessive amount of radiation. thats what some people in japan just went through.

I feel really bad for the people in Japan. I would be scared if I had to evacuate and I would be scared if I was a worker at the plant because of the radioactivity. On the news I saw a video I think it was soon after the tsunami and the sight was really scary, there were like houses and cars in just this pool of water. And I heard that a man was found 10 miles out floating on the roof of his house. I couldn't even imagine being him.

@Daniel
I didn't think about that. There's not a good chance that there would be an earthquake / nuclean explosions / tsunami in the US but that just means we are unprepared.
and whoops, I accidentally did the other two posts first.

@Justin (Again :P)

I wasn't really angry at her, I just don't like it when people assume that. Like when they assume that we would help people, but they wouldn't, ya know? Sorry if my post sounded angry, but I was a bit annoyed by it.

@Alyssa

You probably could help. By maybe donating money so they could pay for food and shelter supplies, or something along that line.

I can't believe that happened. What would happen if the US went through something like this, what would we do? I hope everyone in Japan is okay.

That is a huge number. I feel bad for the people in Japan. I hope everything gets better soon.
