Tornadoes

We have begun discussing sever weather.  Tornadoes are a form of sever weather and something we have the chance of experiencing right here in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Check out the following information on tornadoes.
What did you learn about tornadoes?  What is the cause, what types are there, what destruction can they leave, etc???  Tell me all you can about tornadoes.

I think the cause is when supercells connect with strong winds this makes a tornado. I only found one type of tornado called a vortex tornado, I know there are many more though. The destruction a tornado can cause is very severe such as it can sweep up a home and throw it 100 miles away. When debri breaks a window the wind will casue walls to fall and it rips off the roof. This leaves an impression that the house has exploded.

I am terrifed of tornados! I hate them! A vortex is like a big vacuum cleaner in air.IT stays near the ground and sucks it all upward. The most violent tornadoes have multiple vortexes. These vortexes form and die out as the tornado travels.

I learned that when tornadoes are small they are extremely fierce and they develope very quickly. 1% of the tornadoes in the United States make the winds stronger than 200 miles per hour.. Wow that is very fast it could destroy almost anything that it like touchs or even if the wind blew on something it could destroy it.
The types are Vortexes, and dry lines.
Well it actually says that if you keep your house windows open it will reduce the the air pressure so it wouldnt do as much damage because the air would be processing in and out of the windows.

I heard it can lift up small and light easy objects off the ground and throw it to 100 yards away.
