Earth Day was last Friday, over our spring break. We weren't here at school to talk about the many events that go on across the country to celebrate Earth day, so I thought I would post this site. Check it out and read about just a few of the things that are done to celebrate our Earth. Did you know April 22 was Earth Day? Did you do anything for Earth Day?
What is something you could do? We need to remember that just because Earth day is recognized on one specific date, every day we need to take steps to care for our Earth!

I did not know that Earth day was on April 22, I always have thought it was later than that. Sadly, I did not do anything for Earth day and one reason for that is I didn't know it was Earth day, but one thing I could have done is recycle. I'm very bad at remembering to recycle recyclable things. I also drink pop so I could have donated the tops to the ronald mcdonald house.
I agree we should start to recognize that the Earth needs to change for good. Everyone needs to help create better communities for the future.
I knew it was Earth Day but I didnt know about all the things people do to celebrate it! I didnt do much,I think then I was baking. What I would have done was go door to door in my neiborhood spreading the word about Earth day.

i didnt know it was earth day until thursday. F0r earth day my dad and i went on a hike and visited the grand canyon. I guess we couldve biked to the canyon but we didnt.
I did know that earth day was on april 22 but i forgot and didnt do anything for it. And now im going to start doing stuff for earth everyday like the three r's and hopefully many other people do to.

I dont know who wouldnt agree with that. I recycle by putting the bin in the kitchen, so it will always remind us to recycle our meal scraps.
i had no idea that earth day was even in april, without knowing it was happening, no i did not do anything because i dident know when it was and because i wouldent know how to do it.

At least you knew it was Earth day! I didn't do much either though when I found out about it. I guess I could have done something like recycle or even turn off lights when I don't need them.
I knew it was earth day when i checked my phone for the date and it said earth day on it. I was outside all day, so i didnt really watch t.v.

I did know that Earth day was on April 22, because on the cruise they have a talk show thing, and they mentioned that it was Earth day. Something I could do is recycling more.
I did know something about earth day because when my little brother was watching disney there were people cleaning the golf coast or somewhere around there and they were planting trees and picking up trash apparently that is a part where the oil spill happened.
I didnt know earth day was april 22! And i didnt do anything for it either! I think earth day should become more popular and then people would do more for it. Like recycle more!

i did not know that april 22 was earth day until april 23 when i went to lowes to get there free trees to plant for earthday.
we can put our reusable items in bins and not toss them on the ground.
I did know Earth Day was April 22. I thought it was interesting that over 200 million people did something for Earth Day. I sorta did something, on Wednesday I went to work with my mom (she teaches pre-school at the daycare area at Mt.St. Joe) The preschoolers were celebrating earth day early. So we read a book about the earth and talked about what we liked about the earth. Later the zoo brought animals to the gym, but I had already left. Things we can do is recycle and raise awareness about deforestation. I agree that we need to do more for our earth not just on Earth Day, but everyday!

i agree with you we should that everyone needs to help because most local people do not recycle they just throw it all in the garbage or they are just to lazy and they litter.

@ Luke, we also recycle, but we don't really have a bin, we have paper bags then my mom will take them to the recycling bin, after it's full. On the news there was a family that doesn't throw away anything. They don't buy things with packaging that would throw away and they compost scraps like banana peels. They said that they don't give up any luxuries and it is actually a much easier lifestyle. I can see how it would be a good lifestyle, but I doubt it's easy for a family with two young sons.
i did know it was earth day on april 22, I turned off lights that werent needed, and i tried not to use any paper and plastic, and used reusable plates and cups. what i could have done is help my dad build some more trees in our backyard to make our environment better, also we could of picked up litter

You could attend a national or community-recycling event, you could recycle more of your cans and bottles than you usaly would, and dont spend your time inside usind electronicts and electricity.

I think something everyone could do is to clean up the earth, and to just be respectful to it. Don't litter and try to cut back on how much pollution we put into the air.
YES, i did know that April 22nd was earth day! I love earth day because it makes me remind myself to make this earth a better place. What i coulod do to help the earth is turn off the lights in the room when i am not there and i could not let the water run when i am brushing my teeth. I f we do these things, we can make a big difference.

I found out that that day was earth day at about 3:00.I didn't do anything for earth day.I recycle something everyday so i guess i did do something.I think everyone should recycle everyday.

No i didn't but my brother works for loreal paris and they celebrated it by advertising their green products.

I agree with you normally when I am inside I watch T.V or something butmy mom always say go outside and do something it's so nice out or something like that its been so hard to go outside because of the rain.

I didn't know that it was earth day last friday. I really didn't do anything to celebrate, I may have seen something about it on TV. Something that I could have done is recycle paper or try to conserve water and energy. I think the best way to help the earth is not recycling (although it helps) and that stuff, but stop doing things that will harm the earth. You should do this stuff year. round. Recycling helps

I knew there was an earth day but i didnt know the exact day. This year i didnt do anything for earth day but in 4th grade we walked around the playground and basball fields at Dulles and picked up trash. Other ways you could help the earth is to recycle and make compost piles.
I didnt know that last friday was earth but i wish i did because its very important, its important because its a day deidcated to earth and your supposed to enjoy and respect the enviroment, such as if you see somebody drop a piece of garbage PICK IT UP!
I didnt know that i missed earth day. I didnt do anything for earth day. I probaly recyled that day on April 22 but i didnt do anything special. I really think people should recylce more, and we should even have a program at school too kinda like world fit, but thats my opinion. I think we should really use this day to reconize that we really need to take care of Earth.

they did a tree planting projects and they seperated recycling from trash. We didnt do anything for earth because we didnt know when earth day was. If we would of known we probaly would of recycled things around the house.

That is true we should help make the earth a better place not just on earth day but everyday. Think of how crummy our earth would be if we only did things to help it on one day of the year.
I knew that earth day was on April 22. No I did not do anything on earth day. We could go around our street and ask people for their recycling items. We could take the items to the community recycling center every month to help the earth.

Yes i knew that Friday was earth day, what i did was used less things like when i took a shower i took it shorter than i usually do and when i seen some trash on the ground i oicked it up with my little niece.
What more people need to do I think is to stop throwing trash into the streets because that is why we have trash cans and to pick up garbage off the streets if they see it to start more society groups such as a recycling group where people go out and they pick up trash with eachother and have fun doing it with spirit and excitment that they are helping out the earth.
Kassidy knew it was earth day because people kept coming up to me and telling me to go hug a tree. Something i did for earth day was went outside and cleaned. Something i could do is RECYCLE,!
Breanna did not know it was earth. The reason i didnt know it was earth day because i was at my brothers bootcamp graduation for the army. although i didnt know it was earth day i still helped soldiers pick up trash after the ceremony when everyone left. something i can do is recycle!!

I didn't know that Earth Day was on the 22 of April. I always thought it was later, like in May. I did know that it was on that day while on these forums I check daily, they had an Earth Day thread. I didn't do anything for Earth Day sadly. :l
I could recycle(DUH) and use paper instead of plastic. I love the environment so much, I should know this! But I don't, it's sad.
Also many companies act like they're all for this stuff, preserving the earth and everything, but don't do it. They just keep on polluting and everything.
I think earth day is stupid. the stuff i did on earth day was watch tv and eat and sleep and go on the computer at my house.
I never even knew it was Earth day. They should have an annoucement ir something. But I'm happy to say I rode my bike to my friends house instead of taking a car. I could recycle on Earth day but my family never really has thought of it. I might bring it up!

Well all i did for earth day was read a book i sat in my room and read a book. but none of my lights were n in my house no tv atually my power went out because of thr rain so i had nothing to do but read and clean.
